Trial of the Mind is a 50-minute piece of epic electronic music, originally composed and produced in February 2005. As the piece was nearing completion, the WIP files were lost. Seventeen months later, in July 2006, an early but substantial WIP file was recovered from a disk; the piece was completed and this version is called Trial of the Mind 2006. Symphonic, dramatic, and uplifting. 132 bpm. Try it! (NOTE: "Glitchy" audio here and there is intentional. Rough production and muddy bass are embraced.) |

Trial of the Mind was created from start to finish in Propellerhead Reason v2.0. Absolutely no samples other than individual note hits were used (yes, this means all melodies and string arrangements are original). All samples used (or virtually all) were included in the two Sound Banks that came with the product. The Reason project file has been made available for curious tinkerers to experiment with, and for aspiring musicians to study. Those who wish to modify or remix the composition in whole or in part are free to do so, but any re-released versions MUST be clearly identified as such, in all applicable places; filename, ID3 tag, etc. |
